About Us

Founded In 2013 By Margaret Wuller And Patrick Hanenberger, The Neuland is a design and development studio specializing in crafting unique worlds and stories. Patrick and Margaret have worked with a wide variety of clients including Netflix, Illumination, Google, and Lego.

For the past decade, The Neuland team has offered a skill set firmly rooted in technical artistry and production-savvy efficiency. The studio has no specific house-style but rather opts to take on projects that push into new exciting aesthetics.

The Neuland has worked with artists from all around the globe, pioneering an international workflow that has become more common in recent years. This way of working has kept the studio streamlined but flexible, while also opening the door to a more diverse design palette.

The international workflow of The Neuland can be traced back to a founding principle of the free-spirited artist, or the ability to pick up one’s canvas and paint anywhere around the world, wherever inspiration strikes. This has also kept the studio on the forefront of collaborative, client-friendly design technology.

Despite distances, part of The Neuland’s mission is to foster camaraderie between collaborators within the context of a fragmented media landscape. Bringing people together through stories starts with the bond between those that tell them.

The studio’s namesake comes from an old German sailing term meaning “New Land” - something sailors would shout when discovering new shorelines on the horizon. This spirit of discovery - whether it is new designs, new technology, or new relationships - continues to be the driving force at the heart of the studio.
